I had a mixed experience during my stay at The Barrington Hotel. The location is fantastic, being so close to downtown attractions and the waterfront. However, the room I was in felt outdated and had some cleanliness issues that really put a damper on things. Overall, it's a decent place if you prioritize location over modern amenities.

Rooms
5.0
The room was fairly clean, but it felt old and run down. There were some dust issues and the bathroom could use a deep clean. It seriously lacked the refresh I expected for a hotel marketed as upscale.
Service
7.0
The staff were genuinely friendly, which made my stay a bit better. They were helpful with directions and the valet service was convenient, but I wish the front desk staff had been a bit more organized.
Location
10.0
The location was a highlight for me, right near the major attractions and the Boardwalk, making it super easy to explore Halifax on foot. I loved being able to walk to everything I wanted to see.
Dining
6.0
Dining options within the hotel were alright but somewhat limited. I appreciated the convenience of the restaurant but was hoping for more variety nearby. The grab-and-go breakfast was decent, too.
Facilities
5.0
Facilities offered were basic. I did enjoy the pool area, but it was too cold to enjoy fully. It felt a bit neglected with cleanliness issues around it as well.

5.2/10

I had a mixed experience at The Barrington Hotel. The location is fantastic, close to eateries and attractions, but the hotel is definitely showing its age. I encountered some issues with the staff, particularly at checkout, which left a sour note on an otherwise decent stay.

Rooms
7.0
My room was spacious and clean, with a fridge and coffee maker, but it did have some cracked plaster on the ceiling, which made it feel less inviting.
Service
5.0
While the maintenance staff was friendly and resolved my shower issues promptly, the front desk service was disappointing, with one staff member being particularly rude when I inquired about a late checkout.
Location
8.0
The location of The Barrington is a huge plus. It's just a block away from the airport bus stop and walking distance to the waterfront boardwalk, making it super convenient to explore the area.
Dining
5.0
I found the dining options at the hotel to be quite underwhelming. The restaurant offered mostly fried food and felt understaffed during busy times, but there are plenty of food options in the nearby Scotia Square.
Facilities
5.0
The facilities were okay, but the hotel's amenities, like the parking validation, didn't work smoothly, adding to my frustrations during the stay.

5.4/10

My stay at The Barrington Hotel was a mix of positives and negatives. The location was fantastic, close to dining and attractions, and the staff were very pleasant. However, the hotel itself felt tired and dated, with a lack of basic amenities that I expected for the price I paid. While the bed was comfortable, the overall experience left much to be desired.

Rooms
6.0
The room I stayed in was oversized with ample natural light and comfortable bedding, but it did show signs of wear and tear. Glassware and other amenities were lacking.
Service
5.0
The front desk staff were professional and helpful, but I faced challenges with service organizations, such as problems with my key card and prolonged waits for requested items.
Location
9.0
The hotel's location was excellent, just a short walk from the waterfront, the Citadel, and a variety of restaurants and shops, making it convenient for exploring Halifax.
Dining
6.0
Though the nearby dining options were high quality, the hotel dining was quite expensive, which made choosing where to eat a bit of a dilemma.
Facilities
5.0
I was a bit disappointed that there was no housekeeping service during my three-night stay, which detracted from the overall experience, though the hotel did provide clean towels and coffee upon request.

5.6/10

My stay at The Barrington Hotel had a few highlights, especially the friendly staff. but there were several drawbacks that made my experience less enjoyable. The parking situation was confusing and somewhat inconvenient. Additionally, my room, while clean, felt a bit cramped and lacked some basic amenities. Overall, it was a decent stay, but I wouldn't rush to return.

Rooms
6.0
The room was clean but small, with no fresh air since the windows didn't open. The amenities were minimal, lacking a mini fridge, and I found it challenging to get extra pillows.
Service
7.0
The staff were friendly and always eager to help, which made the stay more pleasant, but there were moments when their communication could have been clearer, especially regarding parking.
Location
6.0
The hotel's location was convenient for exploring downtown Halifax, but getting in and out was tricky due to heavy road construction and limited parking.
Dining
5.0
Dining options were limited; when I tried to eat at the hotel restaurant, I was told a reservation was needed despite empty tables. The breakfast offered a variety, but it would have been nice to have more dining flexibility.
Facilities
5.0
The hotel had basic facilities, but there were no standout features. The air conditioning worked but wasn't particularly strong, and I encountered issues with the elevator.
